When You Can't You Couldn't but When You Want You Will

"I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!"
Remember that enraged comment by the late Peter Finch in the movie, Network?

The scene where Finch’s character, Howard Beale, totally loses it is a metaphor for a feeling of ultimate frustration.

If you’ve seen the movie, you know exactly what I mean.

The connection between you and Howard Beale’s frustration can be very real, if you are frustrated about making progress in your life.

It’s like you’re beating your head against a wall yelling, "I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!"

Well, maybe the following ideas can help you.

Here you are battling yourself regarding something missing or subpar in your life. Could be anything...a new job; success, in general; whatever.

Achieving good things in your life becomes a problem when you battle rather than build.
I guess that means you need to avoid battling with yourself. Focus on building!

Easier said than done, right? Of course, it is!

Good things don't come without a bad price…Bad, in this instance, meaning a high price. You can't get if you aren't willing to give, in other words.

So, what does all this have to do with the title for this blog. Well, now things get simpler and clearer.

Let's take the first part of the title.

I'm suggesting when you feel like you must do something it becomes much harder to do. So much so, in some cases, you can't do anything. You're frozen in frustration over the feeling of being forced to do something.

Many times, when you feel you have to you don't want to!
Flip to the second half of the title.

When you want to do something, it seems much easier. Your level of motivation, energy, passion, whatever you want to call it, is on a level you feel like nothing is going to stop you.

There's no sense of a personal battle going on here! Oh no! You feel a building boom is going on and you're right in the middle of it.

When it comes to getting somewhere else in your life, you will never get there if you feel you are being forced. Everything you say you want must come from a sense of a willingness to build toward it. That sense only comes when you feel compelled by passion rather than driven by dictate.

Find your passion for everything and everything you want will be yours.

Exactly when will you take the first step toward finding your passion in life? What will that step be?
